When I think back on all of the things that have made me who I am today I can now recognize it wasn’t those tough times or difficult circumstances that shaped me – it was my personal brave choice to continue on in spite of them. 💪🏽
Those things that feel as though they may be breaking you could actually be making you. It’s not about what happened. It’s about what you choose to do next.
When you face all the hard things that life will bring… loss, pain, disappointment, offense, fear, doubt, whatever it may be for you… Will you let it hold you back? Those emotions, situations, and seasons definitely have potential to change you, but will it be for the better or the worse? That’s completely up to you.
Today what if we choose to view these obstacles, these hurting places, these hardships not as things happening TO us but actually happening FOR us? What good could come? How will I choose to move forward? Who will I be when all this is said and done?
The strong women that I admire in my life have not had it easy. Rather, it was their choice to continue on anyway, to rise above offense, to grow when they could shrink back. They don’t inspire me because of how easy their life has been. They inspire me because they have persevered and been better for it.
What are you going through right now that is trying to break you but could be the tool God uses to make you? ❤️
